Yamaha FX-3

1 9 7 9 1979
1 9 8 3 1983

If you're an NS-1000 afficionado, you'd like the FX-3 - same Beryllium drivers !

However, the FX-3 was explicitly made for the studio so they really need room to let the 36cm breathe properly.
And the drivers aren't exactly the same but that's minor revisions.

The earlier high-efficiency FX-1 seems to have had much more press coverage and the FX-3 is a very rare item, unfortunately.

I had the chance to listen to a pair, once, c. 1983 and the souvenir is as vivid as when I first heard the NS-1000 a few years later - even better than the latter. In other words : perfect.

The GF-1 was yet to arrive.
