I am toying with the idea of making a diy subwoofer to go with my yamaha ns1000m's, i have a spare pair of yammy bass drivers that i thought i might put in a box isobarik style , anybody have any thoughts ?

Isobarik style brings you a 1/4 advantage in woofer baffle size, but no significant advantage in distortion and the disadvantage of a -6 dB sensitivity against a parallel arrangement of the two woofers. Using the same woofers of the NS-1000 also doesn't provide a deeper bass response.

I would use a high efficiency, professional 15" or 18" long throw speaker (e.g. JBL or BMS) for this application and keep the Yammi woofers as spares ...
But this needs some space ...
