from the luxman l series (circa 1979/80), any one have the manual or any info?

a friend has given this item to my father to sell on flea bay and apart from it being very nice we are running into blank expressions so far.

I have the export cayalog for it, or at least the one-page sell-sheet Luxman cared to do for us (which is still better than the japanese sell-sheet !) so I'll give you some details later on today.

Just be sure it really works because if the L-10 has problems it is a nightmare to fix : it is packed like mad inside !

The L-10 is circuit-wise a C-12 and M-12 put in one box, even if the hardware for the amp part looks different.
See the Luxman C-12 and M-12 pages for the circuit descriptions.

L-10
Pure DC without caps in the NFb loop and DML-ICs.
4x TO-66 output transistors ; Class A preamp and pre-driver, high-bias for proto-Class A output stage.

2x 55W /8 Ohm /20Hz...20kHz /0,015% THD
80 damping factor /8 Ohm /1kHz
90dB / 100dB SN ratio (MM with 10mV input / line)
3mV / 300mV input (MM / line)
DC...100kHz response
300mV pre/tape output (18V maximum)

The crux generally is the DML ICs.

well the phono stage has been removed and is now a normal input. apart from that we cannot tell if the tone controls are working, but apprently they only have a 2db difference so it could be that i cant really hear the difference as they are just hooked up on the testing rig, not in the listening room.

really bloody nice, iam half tempted to pack it in my trunk and run away to the circus...

The controls are like the "tilt" of the L-308/309 or the L-11 (or etc) but a bit more flexible with separate bass/treble and selectable turnover frequencies.
They act over +2 / -2,5dB in the L-10 so subtlety is here normal :)

My husband just agreed to sell his Luxman L-10 amp... I'm looking for info on how to obtain it's value and where the best place is to attempt to sell it. It is in excellent condition, but we don't have the original packaging/ box.
We live in Southern California.

If anyone has info for me, please feel free to email me
stewmama71@yahoo.com

Thank you
