Luxman repair campaigns

Since last july, Luxman in Japan, in a very wise move, is conducting time-limited campaigns to offer repair for some of their most popular components of the Alpine era (1983-1994).

Last july it was the L-570 series (L-570 /570X's /570Z's /580) :

(due to the kanji characters, the auto-link system doesn't work ; copy and paste in a new window)

Last september the M-06 /06a :

For prices ranging from 20 to 40,000¥, the service technicians check electrical points, exchange tired RCAs and power switches/relays and completely replace the PS capacitor blocks (with that of the current M-800A...).
Most surprising, they can also replace the Heat-Pipe cooling system which rarely fail (frightfully reliable system) but when they do it's near instant burnout since both L-570 /580 and M-06 /06a are all Class A designs.

This move is wise per se (wish Sony woud do that for the pre-Esprit :) but also because there are so many of those components in Japan that it actually makes sense, commercially and financially. Methinks Lux unearthed a stock of spare Heat-Pipes and managed to come up with a bright and viable idea (for once) instead of junking all (like Sony did so many times).

Nevertheless, let's hope Lux continues this with the other Alpine-era item which sold like hotcakes (the D-500X's series), even if the lack of spare Philips CDM3 would be centrally problematic. But maybe a stock of them was found as well ?
