Black slim-line automatic turntable with a futuristic name : 2000 !

Inside is not so boldly high-end-ishly futuristic... or maybe it is : IC-driven, modest cost and "computer-analyzed" tonearm.
This was indeed the future of turntables as format for the masses - the future rarely is where one expects it to be.

Inherited from bigger models is the zinc diecast tonearm base, shared with lower models is the IFB base (Insulated Fiber Board) made of plastic, fiberglass and "other materials", a low-speed brushless DC motor and spring-suspended feet.

Also available, higher up, as SL-1900, the latter having a lower name number but being better and heavier - the future is sometimes a bit confusing.
