Black slim-line fluu-automatic and programmable turntable with a 1900 turn of the century name.
The 1900 is quite a bit higher up than the original SL-2000 : specs-wise, tonearm-wise and everything-wise.
Still a "one-IC' operation but the motor is upped to Back-Electromotive-Force FG control instead of a simple FG Servo.
The tonearm sees an excellent spec at 7mg friction for both planes (the EPA-100 was spec'ed at 5mg), thanks to its gimbal suspension and better bearings.
Shared with bigger (and lower) models is the zinc diecast tonearm base, the IFB base (Insulated Fiber Board) made of plastic, fiberglass and "other materials", a low-speed brushless DC motor and spring-suspended feet.
Added were automatic modes with disc-size selection and 6x "Memo Repeat" repeat modes ; maintained were the individual ± 10% pitch controls.
Also available, lower, as SL-2000, the latter having a higher name number but being disparaged from the programming features, the EFB FG speed control, the gimbal suspension and lighter in toto - the future is sometimes a bit confusing.
