Not really high-end but, in 1978, really advanced bookshelf (literally this time) loudspeaker design.
High power handling, 2-piece diecast alumium enclosures (enclosure + front), rubber coating damping, aluminium voice coils, polyamide adhesives, polyester insulation, aluminium film caps, high rigidity woofers, anti-resonant center cap, 10,000G magnetic flux, linear phase driver placement, linear phase, copper-clad aluminium voice coil 2 or 3-piece horn tweeters, polyurethane free edge woofers - and very good looks, too.
Also available as smaller SB-F1 and SB-F2, all in black as well, but unlike the latter two, the SB-F3 wasn't upgraded as SB-F3mkII. The black versions are extra-extra-rare.
Again, as often with Technics' production between 1978 and 1980, japanese originals and export versions have different specifications...
Mine, found for 20€, sound very good and horizontal dispersion is very impressive - for 20€ it is the best I have ever heard ;-)
How to refinish F3s in striking shiny aluminium here.
