Extra-rare Teac CD player which I always thought wasn't produced ! It was but distribution must've been really discrete and quite probably limited to very few markets - read : Germany and/or France only.
Originally presented in Japan (october 1982) then in Paris (march 1983) with dark control pads and lighter surrounding area but produced the other way around ; otherwise identical.
I have no original catalog for this player and don't think there ever was one printed... The image here comes from a may 1983 Audio (DE) magazine reporting on the march Paris Audio Fair.
Surprising fact : the Laser Sound Disc Player DL-700 is a straight rebadge of NEC's CD-803. Yes !
Teac's famed X-1 and X-1s were for... finally not that long after the DL-700.
But what ever happened to Teac's late 1970s research and prototypes on (30cm) laser-read optical discs ?
Btw, DL-700 sounds very much like AL-700 : Teac's near-Invisibila ELcaset recorder.
