Mid-end recorder and cheaper sibling to the TC-FX7.
Originally released with Dolby B, an MPX filter switch, black phones elevel knob and a large transparent cassette window, the original TC-FX6 was quickly revised to become the TC-FX6C with the addition of Dolby C, no MPX filter switch, silver phones level knob and a (sadly) less open window. Otherwise identical.
Technically, the TC-FX6 is a full-height TC-FX7 : but for the DD capstan motor, inside are the same S&F heads (full-depth, though), the same reel motors amounting to almost the same specifications.
Wow & flutter is slightly better on the FX6 and FX6C (0,04% vs. 0,05%) but THD is better on the FX7 : 0,9% vs. 1%.
The TC-FX6C was in silver outside Japan and enigmatic grey in its home country.
No masterpieces, no TC-K777 but like the TC-FX7, they play, record, play and make music.
I'll soon receive the japanese FX6C catalog !
