Successor and less expensive version of the successful TA-1120A.
The TA-1130 was nevertheless on the higher side of the lineups and, using its pre/main switch, was recommended as the perfect base for multi-amplified systems.
Sony had unequalled sales success with its original 1965 ES series, and just as much with this follow-up series : TA-1130, TA-1150, TA-3200F, ST-5130, ST-5150, etc - not to mention receivers like the STR-6065 or STR-6200F.
There are thousands and thousands of them all over the globe, Japan included (but for the receivers there).
The original units had soft knobs, later ones knurled knobs ; japanese models kept the soft ones which are very 1960s insipred and quite more elegant.
After 40 years of duty, the vast majority of TA-1130s are still pumping true Watts - sane design.
A real JP TA-1130 here.
