The last Biotracer biggie.
Alas a transitional unit and rather difficult to find nowadays, the PS-X700 was an updated PS-X75, using the redesigned (smaller) Biotracer tonearm and adding a neat tracking force LED display on the front strip - not that you'd use the latter feature every day but at least it was one more visible feature of technology :)
Like all other Biotracer-equipped turntables, the X700 can have its VTA adjusted through a lever at the bottom of the arm base.
The other features are inherited from the previous generations of Sony's "X" turntables : Magnedisc/Xtal Lock, SBMC base, gel-filled height-adjustable feet and Linear Torque brushless/slotless BSL motor.
The PS-X700 remained present in the japanese catalogs until late 1983 but, Sony Biotracer or not, CD was then the center of all attentions.
