Sony PS-X65C

October   1 9 7 9 october 1979
1 9 8 2 1982

Updated version of the PS-X60 with more electronics, an anti-skating setting deported from the (modified) PUA-7 to the front, a front which holds the arm controls and LEDs to display the chosen speed as well.

The disc-size is optically recognized with the light pole at the back that beams through cutouts in the platter and its mat.
Discreetely lush looks, too, and a sound to match.

Available in Japan in a PS-X65C version for a few more ¥s with an included XL-25A MM cartridge.

The motor and X-TAL system probably are pretty close if not identical to those of the X70 & X60 but I have no technical info on this ; bar a 3dB bettering of the s/n ratio, the specs are nearly identical between the X70/X60 and the X75/X65... and completely identical between the PS-X75 and PS-X65C !

Which is somewhat normal as all are variations of the PS-X70 : same motor, same structure, same tonearm.
