Basic fully-automatic turntable for the masses with features equivalent to that of the PS-X30 and specifications identical to a PS-LX5 (but with a heavier platter, therefore a bigger motor), the X55 made for the turning point before the better PS-X600 and upper-end PS-X700 or PS-X800.
The PS-X55 was my first non-Thorens turntable, way back in 1984. I quickly got back to Thorens (two TD165, TD165S, TD147) before finding at last a TTS-8000 - a very different item, visually and... sonically :)
