The B791 is a B795 with ± 9% pitch control added - the rest is entirely the same, Linatrack tonearm, platter, motor and looks included.
The motor is based on a 200-pole tacho wheel allowing precise comparison between a quartz reference frequency.
The result was better S/N ratio (2dB) compared to the original B790 but a bit weaker a drive...
Despite being the small one, the B791 is remebered as the big one when it only was a revamped B795 : the 1979 small one :)
Updated in 1986 as B291 and B291S with another 2dB push in S/N ratio, IR remote control operation and pretentious black & gold looks for the 291S.
Nevertheless the same tonearm and chassis as the B791 and therefore as the B795.
