Pioneer HPM-100
Pioneer HPM-110
Bestselling speaker from a bestselling series designed by ex-JBL man Bart Locanthi.
Of all the versions made between 1976 and 1980, only the HPM-100 was distributed in Japan after the initial USA launch (although it was made in Japan :) but it didn't do well there : this really was a USA (and to a lesser extent an EU) product.
The HPM-100's filter was revised three times for improved power handling (the HPM-900 and HPM-110 being the last - but ugly in vinyl black) and saw a few higher siblings like the much better HPM-150 and many lower ones.
Not really "audiophile" speakers but vibrant and lively.
All about it here.
