Part of Philips' commemorative components : 1891...1991 makes a century !
If the looks came from Philips in Eindohven (like the PLD-600 and all other LHH products), the manufacturing came from Marantz Japan which managed to make an export version of it named... Marantz CD-11.
Center-stage is the diecast Philips CDM CDM4MD for a dual decade of longevity (or more) ; the rest is pretty much like any contemporary Marantz CD player like the CD-16 with which the LHH700 shares its diecast and copper-plated chassis.
The LHH700 is however (even) more "high-end" and has completely different audio boards with two beefy nickel-core balanced transformers for the XLR outputs.
Inside is the switch from the "old" TDA1541A multibit architecture to BitStream system :
SM5803AP digital filter (8fs, controlled with an external µPC), SAA7350 noise shaper / 1bit coding & master clock oscillator and two TDA1547 switched capacitor dual 1bit converters.
The outputs are dual differential circuits, ending either on 600 Ohm balanced terminals or regular single-ended RCAs.
Each LHH700 was delivered with a luxurious owner's booklet, a set of OFC cables and a large remote allowing jog/shuttle modes.
All this was Japan-only, alas.
(but very abundant there)
Nudies aplenty here.
