Part of the re-re-launch of Luxman :) Post-Alpine and built by AZDEN.
The SQ-38s is part of the true/false anniversary models : it isn''t a reissue like the SQ38D but a model made in old-style to celebrate Luxman''s 70th anniversary.
The circuit is Williamson with reverse-phase signals made by P-K division ; the output stage is made of two push-pull of EL34 (6CA7) tubes with low amounts of negative feedback.
OY transformers, 12AU7 tubes for wide-range tone controls (± 15dB), a Line Straight which bypasses the monitor, balance and tone sections, a "high-precision" MM phono stage and a 2-gang ALPS volume pot.
Things were simple in the 1960s :)
So much so that the SQ-38s sold quite well in Japan... in the 1990s !
A real SQ-38s here.
