First foray for Luxman in loudspeakers - first visible foray that is, or almost visible.

Although having loudspeakers in its lineups since the 1930s, Luxman never was and still isn't a 'speaker manufacturer. So its attempts were outsourced elsewhere... I don't know exactly where for the MS mini-series but will for sure very soon.

The MS-20 is a nicely designed bookshelf of not so modest dimensions but modest power i/o, made with a refined structure and original parts.
It followed the original MS-10 by a few months and was planned to give a more ample sound with an original enclosure structure and venting system.

The three drivers are the same as on the MS-10, with a woofer added :
Aramid bass cones with polyurthane coating of the edges and specially designed aluminium diecast frames, 2,5cm polyester dome with large 11,000g magnet and nomex bobbin.

The enclosure uses very high density particle board and LUX's own Multi-Vent Controlled Speaker System : small holes at the back of the enclosure make for a moderate venting system giving advantages of both acoustic suspension and bass-reflex routes, sans the problems of either systems.

The dual-woofer however called for more work on the enclosure and filter.
The second woofer is sealed in its own sub enclosure to avoid having too much bass waves mingle with each other and the tweeter ; the capacity ratio was set at 3 to 2 to vary fo and Qo of the main and sub-woofers.

The filter lowers the level of the sub-woofer by 6dB at its highest possible output of 250Hz, letting it gradually go down after that with a -3dB/octave slope up to 3Khz.

The MS-20 was rapidly followed by the MS-11 update to the MS-10.

None too successful - but Luxman had started such a spree of lineup multiplications since 1976 that the MS series probably got lost in translation, marketing, distribution and change of plans.
