Kenwood KT-2001

1 9 7 1 1971

Early 1970s low-end combo with the KA-2002 - high-fidelity for the impoverished students with a rising cognac budget.

All transistorized AM-FM stereo tuner with a switchable MPX filter, a well-dimensioned power trafo that isn't perpendicular to the circuits to avoid too much flux leakage - something Technics (and others) took on in the SV-E10 (and others).
Definitely NOT a Supreme 600T - so what ?

The rest is three gang varicap (2 for AM), steel, large flywheel and anodized aluminium. Good enough for the local campus radio and still plenty left for cognac overdoses.

Updated as KT-2001A in 1972 with modeslty better specifications, a less modern/cold-ish design but no price increase. More cognac.
