Not as well remembered as the Technics SA-1000, the Pioneer SX-1250 or the Marantz Model 2500 but, still...
3-stage differential amp, Dual Power-Supply (but one transformer only), four large caps, sizeable side heatsinks, relay switching, DC and overcurrent protection for the amp section.
Output is done by two TA-200W Darlington power-packs - restoration may be difficult there.
FET differential amplifier and two stage DC amplifier for the excellent phono sections (two), triple tone controls, two-step loudness switch, and "Sound Injection Circuit" for the preamp.
Dual-gate MOS-FET 5-gang front end, eight-element phase linear solid-state filter (IF section), PLL decoder, two 7-element Norton type low-pass filters and Dolby FM switch for the tuner.
The KR-9600 is as good as any "monster receiver" made during the last era of bigger is better, but your ears will tell you which suits your taste(s).
