Görler Studio 2004

Görler started in the 1920s, making radios and components for high-frequency gear.

Bought by the Brühl-Mannheim based Körting-Radio-Werke group in the late 1960s. Körting, started in 1925, had an extensive experience on speakers and low-frequency gear manufacturing.

The new brand, Julius Karl Görler, was moved to Brühl-Mannheim and launched a set of expensive systems, tuners and loudspeakers with QUAD compatibility.

The Studio 2004 was the Quad version of the Studio 2002, boasted the same power as the 2002 but divided in 4 (4x 20W), a 4-band tuner with 6 electronic soft-touch presets and a Elac Miracord 660 LP changer.
Weighing 15kg, the Studio 2004 was available in white or with a nussbaum veneer and conformed to the DIN 45500 standard.

A strange "formant" control was available to shape the sound for the left and right speakers individually - sounds closer to synthesizer technology à la Roland or Korg than a 1973 compact !

Like the Thorens-based Phonocord brand, the whereabouts of Görler after 1974 are unknown to me.
The french representation of Görling was located in the 12th arrondissement of Paris.
