Among the tangential Sony PS-F9 and PS-F5 (aka Flamingo), the PS-Q7 (aka Heli) or the radial Audio-Technica - how to make vinyl attractive again when CD was just happening ?

Make it portable, just like the myriad of 1960s record-players that used the same mechanical arrangement. Vinyl wasn't orange then, though, and miniaturized headphones didn't exist.

Neither versions of the same idea could stand jogging, though : jogging was unheard of in the 60s (although plain running was) and the Walkman took over the portable field in the 80s. Exit the LP, portable or not.

Also existed as Audio-Technica AT727 in grey, yellow or bright red colors, as a Lo-D HT-03 (aka Hitachi), with the same Sound Burger nickname, both with a prettier top window but no colored control pads and in silver either under the Nordmende Dingi RP 200 or Saba McDisc names.
There also was a Mechatron version which added a casstte player inside the housing : SRC-830 "Twin Singer" !

The AT version was available in red, yellow and silver and cost 90£ in 1983 ; the batteries could keep them spinning for twenty-four hours.

I have no idea who actually built these three versions but between AT, Dual, Hitachi or Mechatron, it certainly was Mechatron.
