Extremely rare monoblocks which were scarcely distributed outside Japan.
Inside are Real Bias and Super Stability non-Feedback circuits.
Real Bias is another of the many semi/simili/pseudo-Class-A systems : here the bias current is fed slightly ahead of the signal current so that power is delivered only on signal demand.
Super Stability non-Feedback eliminates transient distortion by comparing signal before the 1st stage and after the output stage with a "distortion eliminator circuit" that keeps 0V reference as 0V throughout without phase correction cicuits.
The 8000's pre-driver circuit is a low-noise FET, direct DC-servo with a differential current mirror/cascode bootstrap output predriver with strong amplifying capability.
The POA-8000 was meant as absolute-above-the-POA-3000 bestseller ; it was partnered by the similiarily designed PRA-6000 preamplifier and replaced by the much more successful (and much cheaper) POA-7700, POA-6600 and POA-4400 monoblocks.
Despite receiving Stereo Sound's "Best Product" and "State of the Art" awards, the POA-8000 proved to be not stable at all and this may explain why it sold rather poorly - click the USER button below !
