Denon DCD-1800
Denon DCD-1800R
Denon's first howebrew consumer CD player - first of a long line of very successful and massively built players !
Three winding off the transformer separately feed the drive/servo, analog amp and digital display.
D>A conversion is of the Super Linear Converter kind (*patent pending) : the error detection correction is placed outside but parallel to the signal path.
The drive is named Linear Drive Tracer (*patent pending) and it is à la Philips : radial swing arm, diecast assembly and Toshiba laser block.
This drive is however finicky and not a Philips import : far more complex.
Rapidly updated as DCD-1800R.
