Yamaha #24

B-6
(1980 - 1983)

Well-remembered because of its shape but, sound-wise, not well remembered... because of its shape.

If not on par with Yamaha's own M-2 (aka B-5) or M-4 (aka B-4), the B-6, however, was no slouch: 2x 200W into 8Ohm from 20Hz to 20kHz, with insignificant distortion (thanks to the ZDR circuit), stunning S/N ratio, excellent stereo separation and a strong damping factor.

The X-Power circuit mixes a Pulse Power Supply for low output level and switches to a regular PT for high output - much more about the innards from Mirko very soon !
Until then, all the innards in images right here.
