JVC M-L10
(1981 - 1984+)

At the center of the M-L10 was the Power Cascode Super-A circuitry: a mix'n'match of sliding class, voltage/current processors, non-switching and (internal) E-drive.

Also present inside: unetched capacitors, low-noise Zeners, metal-film resistors and more. And all this worked well for there are thousands of M-L10 in Japan. Yes, unfortunately only in Japan... although officially distributed in the US, it seems this was more of a show than anything else.

At a time when competitors were trying semi-scifi designs (ie. Kenwood L-08 or Pioneer M-Z1), Victor crafted magnificent enclosures made of real rosewood trims and 21 lacquering steps.

The M-L10 was a high-end power-amplifier costing 350,000¥ - it was very successful in Japan and so was its P-L10 mate.

The images for this post come from both 1981 original japanese and north-american L10 catalogs.
