I
remember the record shop I used to buy most of my LPs from. I sometimes
went there only to watch the owners use their B791 - fascinating.
Fascinating in a very professional fashion: no-frills, understated
but built like a rock - Revox is 100% Studer after all !
However, the B 791, B 795 and original B 790 really aren't up, sonically,
to a Sony
PS-X800 or Yamaha
PX-2... by far.
Differences
between the two models are only slight, with the pitch control and
Shure cart reserved for the 791. The system for the tonearm is the
same for all: magnet-driven at the top and resting on a precious
stone at the bottom.
I
still want one.
