Technics SL-10
(1981 - 1985)

Slightly severe in looks but highly desirable. Unlike many of the early 80s "square" TTs, the SL-10 was no gadget and is an excellent turntable.
Best Product in Japan, along the programmable SL-15.

Tangential vinyl spinners which take little room, are reliable but sound beautifully musical can be summed up in four, chronologically :

Pioneer PL-L1,
Yamaha PX-2,
Technics SL-10 & SL-15,
