Sony Precise P7
(1978 - 1982)

The first PRECISE system - it may look flimsy and 80s-ish but it really is not.

The separates are covered by sliding aluminium sleeves holding Sony's (then-) fashionable technologies: PPS (Pulse Power Supply), Hi-fT transistors and a Heat-Pipe for the integrated, X-Tal Lock for the tuner. The X-Tal locked turntable rests on a single-piece SBMC frame while an MC stage complements the TA-P7F, along a four-way "acoustic comp" bass booster. On the production side, the TA-P7F is essentially a TA-F40 and the ST-P7J is essentially a ST-J60, minus some functions due to the shoe-box format.

If you find any of these, don't hesitate: they look better than on the photographs and sound much better than what their size may imply. Neither of these are equivalents of a TA-F7B , ST-A7B or even TA-F80, of course, but why none of these sold well is beyond my understanding.
