ES = ES ?

Here posted are the equivalences between some ES units and market-related rebadges. Is is typical of Sony to give different names to a unit depending on the market it is meant to be distributed into... which makes for a very complex tracking of all units! Other brands had this habit but Sony, on this ability to complicate what should be simple, is the absolute topper :)

The differences (if any) between those "versions" may lie in a slight face face lift (rarely), secundary functions being added to or retrieved from the remote control, a little badge added, a slight difference in chassis structure or a multivoltage capacity. The original japanese versions seem to have seperate service manuals, though, and therefore perhaps bear real differences...
Keep in mind that japanese originals generally appeared from 6 months to a year before the dates posted here. I will add the 1970s models (whether K7 or RtR) sometime later on - this is a very long exercise to perform !
