TA-D88
TA-D88B
(march 1978 - 1981+)

Probably the most successful audiophile electronic crossover - the D88 sold very well, and in much larger quantities than any model from Pioneer or Accuphase.
Updated in early 1981 to become the ESPRIT TA-D900 with, besides looks, minor layout and PCB differences. The D88's lowest frequency module (Module 1) starts at 140Hz, a frequency pushed back byt the ESPRIT D900 with the addition of Module 0 which allowed to start at 50Hz.

The specifications between the TA-D88B and the ESPRIT TA-D900 are however exactly identical but the D88 shows even less distortion ;-) The modules (tagged in blue for the D88, in red for the D900) are also identically built.

In Japan, a special module was made available before the D900 came in: the S1. It allowed to start the low crossover at 62,5Hz, 100Hz or 125Hz instead of the 140/225/280Hz of the normal Module 1.
