Liutgarde
Like Arégonde, Bertrude, Sichilde or Gomotrude, Liutgarde
belongs to the forgotten names of the feminine side of the nascent
french royalty - sometime around 1500 years ago.
Our one-time emperor, Carolus Magnus, aka Charlemagne, the only
one worth mentioning, married a ravishing Liutgarde,
just after repudiating Fastrade. And two kids before
biblically knowing Madelgarde, Gerswinde, Régina and, finally,
Adelinde - what a man.
But
if once fashionable names vanish throughout centuries, as fashionable
names do, one does still remain audible, even if quite discreetely,
since that long gone 20th century. And that name isn't Haldetrude,
no, but OHM.
One round syllable that is known to remove the walls of one's listening
room, to shake da foundations and extend stereo sound as far as
north to the hardy Frisons, south to the mystical Cathars, west
to happily cumenical Castilla and east to the sombre Carpathes
- what a syllable !
It
is thus easy to understand why, ever so often, Liutgarde
wondered if OHM hadn't been the better
choice compared to Carolus... However magnus.
