Marantz
PM 520DC
(1982
- 1983)
Probably not the tackiest unit of this lineup but tacky enough to
be desirable - the very early 80s were interesting years.
Graphic EQ, touch-pads and LEDs aplenty - a lit and shiny little
bazaar from... Philips.
CD players weren't in the catalogs yet but CD already was an optional
& auxiliary source for this golden showpiece.
Added
to the previous lineup for the 1982/83 season, both the PM
520DC and PM 420 sported a CD
input, while the better siblings prudently waited to see what would
happen before accepting such a new and highly reflective source
of music.
Naturally built in Japan by SRC
(aka Marantz Japan) and naturally available with a much becoming
wood-enclosure there.
